J. Chevalier have been assembled and distributed by the Michael Harer GmbH and went bankrupt in 2003/2004. They are swiss made.
In 2001 J. Chevalier presented three interesting models at BASELWORLD. All three have been handwounded and have been made as a homage to J. Chevalier a Geneva watchmaker.
1)Grand Plateau Classic (Ref. 33.1740.23) with cal. CH 1740 (base: Unitas)
2) Grand Plateau Alarm (Ref. 33.1750.23) with cal. CH 1750
3) Grand Plateau Tourbillon (Ref. 33.1760.23) with cal. CH 1760
All three have been limited editions: 300, 500, 150 pieces.
If I remember correctly Joseph Chevalier now belongs to the
H5-Group (Montres Perrelet, Leroy, Joseph Chevalier, Berney Blondeau and Dubois Téchnique (DTH) in Le Sentier) owned by Miguel Rodriguez (Festina).
New old stock is sold on ebay, chrono24 for competitive prices.
